What We Believe

The Gospel

God created the world and all that is in it. When he created it, He said that it was good. Unfortunately, it did not stay that way, sin and death entered the world, and mankind was left estranged from God.  The Gospel is the redemptive plan by God where He sent His son into the world in order to die on our behalf and raise to life conquering sin and the grave. Through faith in Jesus Christ, we become part of God’s overall plan of redemption, which allows us to proclaim and take part in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  The Gospel is not just good news of a future salvation over death: it is also the good news of life transformation today. In salvation the Holy Spirit leads us and guides us to repentance, but also to become more like Jesus.

Our Affirmations and Denomination

We believe the local church is a place where people can show up just as they are and be welcomed to explore or deepen their relationship with God. No matter where you are in your life or in your faith, there is a place for you here. Our church is a member of the Evangelical Covenant Church denomination, whose churches are multiethnic, intergenerational and missional.

Our core beliefs are outlined in what we call Covenant Affirmations.

Our Six Affirmations

  • We affirm the centrality of the word of God.
  • We affirm the necessity of the new birth.
  • We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the Church
  • We affirm the Church as a fellowship of believers
  • We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Sprit
  • We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ

Becoming a Member

When a new member joins a Covenant church, they are asked two questions: "Do you confess Jesus Christ as your Savior and promise to follow Him as Lord?" and "Do you accept the Holy Scriptures, the Old and New Testaments, as the Word of God and the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine, and conduct?"
