Outreach/ Missions

The Faith Covenant Outreach and Missions Team heads up our local Outreach and Mission activities. We use the Great Commission directive to be "...witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the Earth" as a way to categorize our Outreach and Missions activities. So, in the order of the Great Commission, here is a summary of what is near and dear to our hearts to serve in Christ's name:

"Jerusalem"-- We see this as the Huber Ridge and Blendon Township area surrounding Faith Covenant.

--Adventure Week: A week-long VBS in June for children ages K-5

--Youth House Open Hour: Open hours at the Youth House and basketball courts-- see Youth

--Huber Ridge Elementary School: Meals for Teachers and free tutoring for students.

--Huber Ridge Area Association and Blendon Township: Volunteering for area and civic events.

--Beggar's Night: Passing out candy and glowsticks to neighborhood children.

--Annual Christmas Tree Lighting: A Community event held on the 1st Sunday of December.

--Huber Ridge Move-in Connection: Welcoming information and supplies for new residents.

--Other: various festivals and community events, including a Revival each Summer sponsored by the Covenant House and Fort Jackson Ministries.

"Judea"-- Which to us is the Greater-Westerville area, as well as wherever our people live, work, and play.

--W.A.R.M (Westerville Area Resource Ministry): Serving W.A.R.M. in ways that we can, including: food at Thanksgiving, toys at Christmas, clothes and supplies throughout the year.

--Fort Jackson/ Covenant HouseWe try to serve as an integral part of this Ministry where formerly incarcerated men can live together in harmony as they transition back into 'normal' life.

"Samaria" -- We see this as serving people throughout Central Ohio who we would not interact with on a regular basis.

--Lower Lights: a ministry that targets the Franklinton area of Columbus Ohio.

--Revival Covenant Church: Coming alongside our sister Covenant Church which is made up of mostly Congolese and Kenyan refugees to try to help meet their needs.

--Blessing Bags for the Homeless: An initiative of our 4-6th grade Sunday School Class to have bags with necessities available as we encounter our cities homeless population.

--Young Life: We provide financial support and volunteers working with High School Youth involved with Young Life.

"The Ends of the Earth" --Which to us is equipping, mobilizing, and sending missionaries to the unreached people groups of the world, as well as 'reverse missions' to reach the nations that God has placed in our own backyard.

--International Friendships Inc.: providing volunteers for this International Student Ministry for airport pick-up, temporary housing, Holiday hosting, and conversation partnering.

--Riverview International Center: Providing volunteers for ESL (English as a Second Language) classes and special events to serve area residents who are mainly foreign born Arabic speakers from a Muslim background.

--Barb and Steve Swanson: The Swansons are currently serving in Mamö, Sweden where they are working with displaced Middle Eastern refugees. Faith Covenant provides financial support, prayer, and will hopefully be sending a short-term missions team to assist the Swansons in the near future.

--Evangelical Covenant Missions: The Evangelical Covenant Church (to which denomination our church is a part) is steeped in Missions to the nations and  unreached people groups. Faith Covenant Church gives a tithe to support the larger denominational mission efforts. To learn more please click here.
