Adult Sunday Morning Bible Study

Starting September 10, 2017

God chose Israel and rescued them out of Egypt. He gave them the Promised Land, but when they rebelled and sought other gods, He exiled them to Babylon.

What happened to Israel when God brought a remnant back to Jerusalem? Let's find out during our Fall and Winter Bible Study beginning September 10, 2017, at 9.15.

Our study begins with Daniel's account of the fall of Babylon in 539 BC. Godly leaders like Zerubbabel, Jeshua, Esther, Mordecai, Ezra, and Nehemiah will inspire and encourage us as the Temple is completed, the Jewish people are saved from destruction, and Jerusalem is restored under God's sovereign hand of protection.

The prophets Daniel, Haggai, Zechariah, and Malachai will give us insight into God's grace-filled plan of forgiveness and salvation through Jesus' first coming, which was future to them. Seeing prophesies fulfilled about Jesus will inspire us to place total confidence in prophesies still future to us. Every word God speaks will be fulfilled. In the Spring of 2018, we will study many of the Old Testament prophesies about Jesus' Second Coming and the future of Jerusalem found in the books of Malachai and Zechariah.

Study guides can be found in the Welcome Center.

Seeking Refuge: On the Shores of the

Global Refuge Crisis

Starting September 10, 2017

We can't ignore the the refugee crisis-- arguably the greatest geo-political issue of our time--but how to we even begin to address something so massive and complex?

In Seeking Refuge, three experts from World Relief (an international non-profit organization specializing  in refugee resettlement), offer a practical, well-rounded, and well researched guide to the issue.

Who are these refugees and other displaced peoples?

What are the real risks and benefits of receiving them?

How do we balance compassion and security?

Drawing from history, public policy, psychology, many personal stories, and their own unique Christian world-view, the authors offer a nuanced and compelling portrayal of the plight of the refugees and the extraordinary opportunity we have to love our neighbors as ourselves.

How can you make a difference in the lives of refugees?
