How it all began

Faith Covenant Church was chartered on March 27, 1977 by twenty-nine people in a farm house on the north side of Columbus, Ohio. Brought together by a solid belief in Jesus Christ as Savior and the Bible as the Word of God, this small group began as a church plant of the Evangelical Covenant Church. Today it has grown into a worshiping community of over one hundred and seventy.

The congregation quickly outgrew the farm house and moved to the local YMCA building. Every Sunday the congregation transformed a YMCA into a sanctuary, if only for a few hours. Faith Covenant Church moved into its first permanent

facility in 1985 at the corner of Morse Road and Cherry Bottom in Gahanna. God blessed this congregation with growth. We received an offer from CVS in late 1999 to buy our five-acre corner property for $1.3 million, which we joyfully accepted!

In April of 2000 God led us to our new home at 3607 Dempsey Rd. in Westerville, as we purchased an existing church’s building for $1.29 million. We have been faithfully living out our “Seed Verse” of I Thessalonians 2:8 by not only sharing the Gospel of God but also by loving people with our hearts as well.

Our music ministry has grown by the addition of a worship band and with a seasonal choir. Adventure Week, (VBS) has been a hallmark program for us as we continue to reach out to children and youth with the Good News of Jesus. We recently  remodeled our Welcome Center and during the Covid-19 pandemic we strengthened our ability to serve worshipers with our online presence.

Come grow with us – in the faith, in the Word, and in your heart.
